"You've probably seen this man on some of the Federation/CJA materials this past year. His eyes, hands and face speak volumes. He's 103 years old, very quiet and very popular among the regulars at the soup kitchen - he's the elder there. He reacted slowly to the picture of Jerusalem that I gave to him. With his hat and buttoned-up shirt, I felt that dignity was of paramount importance to him. Ultimately he got impatient with the photography, but was proud that I had asked him to be photographed."
